I still do some occasional work for my old clients. On an hourly basis, and on anything but on short notice. Now if they email me on friday, asking whether I can be there on tuesday, the answer is usually no. Especially while I am on my honeymoon. I usually offer a number of alternative dates, as I have done in this case, but even if they change their mind… I will rather ignore any future emails they send than work five hours a year and take the blame for them not meeting their own deadlines, only because they thought I’d be available on such short notice.
Trying to get the palace guards to wink.
August 15, 2007No, I have not tried to get a guard to wink. And I fail to see why so many other people do. What’s so exciting about this. They won’t wink. So you’ll end up dancing around funny in front of other people, with nobody laughing. So cool.
I had another thing on my mind. Having once been in the military myself, I found it hard not to jump at one of the guards. For not having his uniform straight. A palace guard. Hah.
Honeymoon.
August 13, 2007It’s finally time to go on our honeymoon. My in-laws just came back from the same European capital we’re flying to. They provided a good number of tips; things to do (such as getting one-week-passes for public transportation) and other things to avoid (such as exchanging money at money exchanges).
Silly as it may seem, I expect to have more time to blog in the three weeks to come than I had in the past few weeks since the wedding. Although they were less stressfull than the weeks before the wedding, they still increased the need for time off even more. – If you’re wondering about what my wife is going to say about me spending time in front of a computer… she’s worse! She’ll probably look for and find an internet café on day one, then return there on a daily basis to dump the contents of her digital camera to flickr. Which will give me time to blog and such… no promises though.
